On Tuesday, February 15th, 2022, at age 67, Karen Marie Gray went to be with the Lord. She fought a long and courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease). To know her was to love her, and her family and friends were blessed indeed by her. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Turning Point Community Church in Lubbock on March 12 at 1:00 pm. Family and friends are invited to sign the online guestbook and view her life tribute.Karen Marie Gray was born in San Jose, California, to Milton David Kost (deceased) and Jane Carol Kost. She grew up in San Jose, California, along with her 4 siblings and graduated from Camden High School in 1972. Karen attended West Valley College and majored in accounting.She married Mark Alan Gray on October 15th, 1994, and they began a wonderful life together. Together they raised their blended family and have 3 children: Josh Bannister, Holly Freeman, and Michael Gray. She is survived by her husband, her children, and 3 grandchildren: Trinity, Landry, and Deacon Bannister. Mark and Karen were blessed with 27 years of marriage and set a good example of a healthy, happy marriage for their family.Karen worked for many years in construction doing accounts payable and receivable. Before she retired, Karen worked at the California Department of Motor Vehicles for approximately 8 years.She was strong in her faith and a passionate follower of Jesus Christ. This showed in her love for family, friends, and others. Karen loved baking, sewing, gardening, and jigsaw puzzling. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She especially appreciated the connection she had with Katrina, who she viewed as her spiritual daughter.
