The family of John David Snodgrass will host a gathering of family and friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Monday, April 08, 2024, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. A service to celebrate his life of 62 years is scheduled at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Lake Ridge Chapel, followed by a time of fellowship with family and friends.
John David Snodgrass, Jr., age 62, passed away at home surrounded by his wife and children on April 6, 2024. John grew up in Brownfield where he loved playing baseball with his friends and teammates. He graduated from Brownfield High School in 1980. He was born April 6, 1962, to John and Suzanne Burdick Snodgrass in Crosbyton, Texas. He married Emily Searcy Huff on January 14, 2005, at Good Shepherd in Brownfield, Texas. Mr. Snodgrass is survived by Emily Snodgrass – wife, five children, Megan Huff of Brownfield, Micha Huff of Lubbock, and three minor children Kapri Snodgrass, Jonathan Snodgrass, and Brooke Snodgrass, his best friend Max Martin, his mother and two younger brothers both of Johnson City, Texas, Jeff Snodgrass and Dan Snodgrass and wife Aylin. Special friends, Noe and Rafailita Telles, of Lubbock, Texas, Dr. Asif Farroq of Lubbock, Texas, and Daniel and Della Mullins, of Carlsbad, New Mexico. Liz Dome, of Paducah, Kentucky, and Bill and Cindy Dickey, of Camano Island, Washington. John had many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father John Sr., his grandparents, Dr. Milo and Dorthy Snodgrass and Marjorie Burdick.
John was a Freemason and a perpetual member of Lindsey Lodge 292. John retired from Occidental Petroleum where he was a pumper. He also served the communities of Brownfield, Levelland, and Dallas as a funeral director. John worked many jobs in his lifetime, but his greatest joy and accomplishment was being a good father and husband. His children were his entire world, and they gave him strength during the rough times and laughter and joy all the time. John loved his family and would make a point of telling them that he loved and appreciated them as often as possible. John had a knack for making friends and was loved by all he met.
