John Randolf Blake was born October 31, 1944, to Jewel and Ethel Brazell Blake in Gomez, TX. After high school, he served two years in the U.S. Army. He married Carol Nash on December 2, 1968, at First Baptist Church in Meadow, Texas. He farmed for many years in Paducah, Texas. After leaving farming, he worked for the City of Lubbock Water Department until his retirement. He had a passion for old cars, especially Mustangs. He was an active member of the Caprock Car Club and the Lubbock Mustang Club.
Mr. Blake is survived by a daughter, Shauna (James) Baughcum of Lubbock; son, Lee Blake of San Angelo; grandchildren, Katelyn (Logan) Baughcum-Gaines of Lubbock, Kymber Baughcum of Lubbock; and brother-in-law, Bob (Kim) Nash of Arlington and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Carol Blake; and parents, Jewel, and Ethel Blake.
