John Givens

John Anthony was born on October 21, 1943, to Jack and Linda Givens in Greeley, Colorado. On April 12, 1974, John married the love of his life, Karol Phillips in Clovis, New Mexico.Survivors include his wife, Karol Givens; children, Shelley Hawkins and husband, Monty; Eric Givens and wife, Rachael; Sarah Pachall and husband, Jimmy; Jason Moyer and wife, Tracy; and Stephanie Hinson and husband, Dave; grandchildren, Shelby Ingram and husband, Travis; Katie Hawkins, Patrick, Timothy, and Drue Givens; Hannah Swint and husband, Tanner; Aaron Pachall and wife, Autumn; Mackenzie and Bryce Hinson; Alex and Andi Moyer; great-granddaughters, Peyton and Piper Ingram; and Blaize Pachall; and sister, Kay Fowler and husband, Bill.He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Linda C. Givens.John was a home builder for 30 years before he received God’s call to serve in the ministry. He was a dad to 52 foster children, a pastor to several Texas churches, retiring from Community Christian Church after 15 years of service. John devoted every part of his being to that purpose and never failed to show the love of Christ to everyone he met. He loved God and loved his neighbor as himself. John fought the good fight until his final breath. Well done good and faithful servant. You will not be forgotten.
