A gathering to celebrate John Edward Dea’s 80 years of life will be held at T6 West Texas on April 12, 2025, at 1:00pm, with his service to begin at 1:30pm, followed by a reception and fellowship. John Dea passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025.
John Edward Dea, born January 28, 1945, to John and Pauline Acker Dea in Tucson, AZ, was known by many for owning and operating Dea Window and Door Company, as well as his lifetime of dedication to volunteering, educating, advocating for, mentoring and support of others through Boys Scouts of America, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, Texas Wildlife Association, Lubbock Police Department, Vet Star, Veteran Affairs, Texas Veterans Commission, and T6 West Texas Vet Center.
John is survived by his children, Shelli (Greg) Dea, Ty (Shelly) Cranford, Clay Cranford; grandchildren, Austin (Shyan) Cranford, Ashley (Kevin) Campbell, Tyler Cranford, Liam Lagro; siblings, Michael Dea, David (Claudia) Dea, Dee (Gary) Herricks.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Pauline Dea.
The family requests that donations be made to the T6 of West Texas Foundation in lieu of donations. Donations would be in support of their mission, of which John Dea was a strong advocate, as well as their generosity in agreeing to take in and care for his three mules after his passing.
