Jimmie Dunn passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2022. Following a private graveside service for the family at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at Floydada Cemetery, family and friends will celebrate his life of 86 years at 2:30 PM that afternoon at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. His family will host a time of fellowship and remembrance immediately following the celebration of life at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. James F. Dunn Jr. was born March 22nd, 1936, in Floyd County to James F. Dunn Sr. and Alma Montgomery Dunn. Jimmie graduated from Floydada High School in 1954, and that same year on August 25, Jimmie married Patsy Joyce Robertson. Patsy, as a cheerleader of Floydada High School, cheered him on as the football captain and remained a cheerleader throughout their 68 years of marriage. Jimmie founded Cecil-Dunn Insurance Agency with long-time beloved friend Bob Cecil. Their partnership continued for a number of years. Following Bob’s retirement, Jimmie kept the name due to his respect and love for Bob. Jimmie was a member of The Monterey Optimist Club, The Lubbock Association of Insurance Agents, and together with Pasty has been a long time member and supporter of Southcrest Baptist Church of Lubbock.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Dunn; their children, Debbie (Steve) Shipley, Brenda (Bruce) Machacek, Rhonda (Joseph) Goss; grandchildren, Jennifer Clark, Steven (Crystal) Shipley, Clayton (Cinthya) Shipley, Andrea Koussa, Michelle (Zachori Tegeler) Koussa, Gabrielle (Sergei Krylov) Krylova; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Joe (Lynn) Dunn of San Angelo, and Mary Parks of Victor Montana.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and sister, Margaret Balios.
