Jim was a wonderful boss and friend. Back in the early 90s, he helped me navigate the development of my new role at Texas Tech. His support over the years was a foundation for my service to Tech. You are missed. My condolences to his family and friends.

Jim and I both worked at Texas Tech University and during our many years of service, I had great respect for Jim. He was an excellent person to guide the university and system budgets and resources. He had a great sense of humor, and he was always very helpful. He was a loyal, conscientious, trustworthy, articulate representative, and it was a pleasure to work with him. His presence at TTU activities and in the community will certainly be missed. Bess Haley

I worked as a student assistant for Mr. Brunjes in the Office of the President. I was a non-traditional student with two small children working hard to complete my education. At graduation, Mr. Brunjes took the time to find me and I will never forget what he said to me. He said, "Congratulations, you did it. An education is something nobody can ever take away from you." Mr. Brunjes was a wonderful man and will be missed. Sending prayers for his family and friends.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Dear Marie and the Brunjes Family, I'm saddend by the news that Jim has passed away. We met in 1965 at A&M and shared many joyful memories during our time there. We have remained friends ever since. The world has lost "one of the good ones". It brings joy to know you were there to love and comfort him as he completed his time here on earth. Blessings on you and the family. Dennis and Marcee Kniery (TAMU '69)

I met Jim while attending the 50th Texas A&M, Class of "69" reunion with my husband Bob Abbott. Though I've heard about Jim and all of Bob's college friends, it was such a pleasure and honor to meet them in person. That was such a wonderful weekend. Marie, you made Jim one happy person, that's when I was aware you and Jim were engaged which added more fun to the festivities. My condolences to Marie and the family. Another Aggie gone...but never forgotten.
