Jerry D. Kelly was born on March 10, 1938, to Jewl and Georgia (Bradshaw) Kelly in Pasadena, TX. Jerry enlisted in the US Army in 1956, and he was honorably discharged in 1963. On January 2, 1958, Jerry married Martha Ann Woolly in Altus, OK. They moved to Lubbock in 1959. Jerry worked for Texas Tech University as a Graphic Designer for thirty years. In 1980, he was awarded “Top Techsan” from TTU. He received the national award for his package design for the St. Regis Paper Company. He was also awarded the Horace Hart award of the Education Council of the graphic arts industry. Jerry was an active member of Monterey Baptist Church.
Survivors include his two daughters, Kim Barnes and husband John, Kristy Lowry and husband Jeff all of Lubbock; four grandchildren, Kelsey Summers and husband, Ethan; Ashley Spiegel and husband, Justin; Tyler Lowry, Ryan Lowry and his daughter, Owen Kate Lowry; four siblings, Rocky Kelly, Larry Kelly and wife, Betty; Kathy Sutton, and Jolene Onstead; and sister-in-law, Kathryn Kelly.
Along with his wife, Martha, Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; brother, S.D. Kelly; and a grandson, Zachary Barnes.
