Janis Ann Mackey was born on July 5, 1947, to Roger and Mary Ellen (Lowe) Parchman in Ralls, Texas.
Janis most and foremost was The Lord’s servant. Janis loved her church. She was the organist and a longtime member of Lake Ridge Baptist Church. She received a bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech in education. Janis worked for Traveler’s Inn and later NTS Communications from November of 1997, until she retired in December 2012. She enjoyed traveling with her dear friends with King’s Highway and Bilbrey Tours. The greatest joy in her life was her grandchildren. She loved to talk about them, as they were her pride and joy.
She is survived by her children, Doyle Mackey and wife, Susan; Bryan Mackey and wife, Nichole; grandchildren, Kyle Mackey, Heather Mackey, Meagan Mackey, and Madison Mackey. She is also survived by a niece, Barbara Baldwin and husband, John; great-nephew, Chase Andrews; great-niece, Grace Andrews; and other cousins that even though she did not see frequently, she thought of often.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Roger Maurice and Mary Ellen Parchman; sister, Sue Ellen Wallace; and nephew, David Moore.
Janis passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, January 3, 2017.
