Jan Altman

The family of Jan Altman will host a gathering of family and friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. A service to celebrate her life of 79 years is scheduled at 9:00 AM on Friday, January 13, 2023, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, followed by a graveside service at Meadow Cemetery. Jan was born July 6, 1943, to Willie and Mattie Gentry Joplin in Slaton, TX. She attended school in Meadow, TX where she graduated in 1961. She married Clark Altman on February 28, 1986 at Westmont Christian Church in Lubbock, Texas.  Jan worked in financial institutions most of her life.  She loved to play volleyball and basketball, enjoyed watching any sport on television, and had a passion for shopping! Jan loved her family, her brothers and sisters, and will be truly missed by all who knew her.

Jan is survived by her husband, Clark Altman; children, Traci Pierce, Dr. Russell (Rhonda) Cravey, Mitzi Delcambre, Priscilla (Clay Dale) Grice, Chip Altman; grandchildren, Heather Lones, Brinnan Wright, Mitchell Coleman, Berklie Martin, Connor Reams, Brhett Pierce, Cortland Fuller, Matthew Delcambre, Emily Delcambre, Shelby Altman, Melanie Avera; and 9 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Mattie Joplin; 4 brothers, 6 Sisters; a daughter Shauna Latrice Cravey; and daughter-in-law, Carrie Gay Altman.

In lieu of flowers her family has requested donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in her memory.
