Jim Burnett, of Wolfforth, Texas went to be with the Lord on November 17th, 2016. Although his time on earth is over, his spirit lives on in his work at Texas Earth, through his family and in his passion to make the world a better place. He loved helping people improve their soil and nothing pleased him more than a beautiful crop, a mountain view, fish jumping out of the water and a good Ace Reid cartoon. Jim lived an exciting life of travel and experiences including a stint as the Marlboro Man in Europe, leading research efforts for Texas Tech at the PanTex research station, sales for Elanco, but his passion was his company, Texas Earth, established in 2007. Owning his own company allowed him to positively impact his customers through crop consultation and soil remediation
He is survived by his mother, Moena Burnett, wife Nancy Burnett, children Courtney, Clint and Clover Cox and Sarah and Thomas Truesdell. Siblings include Sherry and Rick Etheredge, Stan and Deniese Burnett and Jana and Mark Brown plus numerous extended family. He is preceded in death by his father, RJ Burnett.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life of 68 years on Monday, November 21, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. A tribute of Jim’s life may be found at www.memorialdesigners.net, where you may leave memories and expressions of sympathy for his family.
