Irene Salas was born on November 20, 1972, in Dade City, FL, to Aruilano and Esmeralda (Calderon) Salas.

Irene’s commitment to her community and her passion for healing led her to pursue a career in nursing. She was a registered nurse working for many different hospitals but more recently Covenant Medical Center. Her dedication and expertise made a significant impact on the lives of countless patients and their families and brought love, compassion, and joy to everyone she met.

She shared a loving and devoted relationship with her family including her partner Tom Foster; beautiful daughter, Alexis von Gilleland and her father Aron Gilleland, her loving mother, Esmeralda Salas, and siblings, Rudy and Eva Salas, Diana and Domingo Sepeda, Esmeralda Salas-Logan and husband Travis, Adam and Rosie Salas.

She was preceded in death by her father, Aurilano Salas; and brothers, Aurilano II, Luis, Danny, David, and Joe Salas.

To honor Irene’s life and celebrate her loving spirit, her family will host a gathering of family and friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Saturday, December 9, 2023. Celebration services will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at 2:00 pm at the also at Lake Ridge Chapel with burial following

At the age of 51, Irene, a beloved wife, mother, and sister, as well as a dedicated nurse, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2023, in Lubbock, TX.
