On Friday, August 6, 2021, Hartman Hutson Coursey, loving husband and father of three children, passed away at the age of 94.

Hartman was born on the 29th of March in 1927 around Paris, TX. to his parents, Mattis and Ruby Coursey.  He attended school in east Texas before moving to New Home, TX in 1944 and eventually to Wilson, TX, where he graduated high school.   He met, then married Clarice Ardelle Henderson of Canadian, TX on October 12, 1950. They raised three children, Dan, Marcha and David. He was blessed with two grandchildren, four great grandchildren and was known as Papa Hop.

Being a truck driver for most of his career, he enjoyed telling stories of his days on the road. He loved spending time with precious family, tending to his flower garden and following the sport of basketball, a passion in his high school days. As a faithful follower of Jesus Christ, he was an active member of Bacon Heights Baptist Church.

Hartman was preceded in death by his father Mattis Coursey, his mother Ruby Coursey, his wife Ardelle Coursey,  his sisters Jackie Thompson and Ruth James and his brother Gerald Coursey. He is survived by his brother Clay (Pat) Coursey, his children Dan (Margie), Marcha and David (Roxy), two grandchildren, Brett Coursey and Brittni (Jarrod) Kingston, four great grandchildren Beckham Coursey, Barrett Kingston, Briggs Kingston and Jett Kingston.
