Hannah Joy Hooks, born on March 30, 2012, in Monroe, LA, passed away May 1, 2024, at the tender age of 12. She was the cherished daughter of Sam and Denay Hooks, a beloved sister to Hudson and Hadley Hooks, and a loving granddaughter, great-granddaughter, niece, and cousin. Hannah, a student at Cooper ISD Laura Bush Middle School touched the lives of all who knew her with her infectious joy, resilience, toughness, and her sass. Her radiant smile brightened even the darkest days and earned her the endearing nickname of an “angel on earth.” She brought love, laughter, and pure joy to all those around her. She always thought of herself as a mermaid and her favorite color was purple.
Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of her family and friends, including her parents, Sam and Denay Hooks; siblings, Hudson and Hadley Hooks; grandparents, Deck Hooten, Kim Lehmberg and Jeff and Shan Hooks; great-grandparents, LuAnn Hooten and Dick and Mary Kinkead; aunt and uncle, Dax and Becky Hooten; cousin, Drake Hooten, and uncle, Andy Hooks.
She is preceded in death by a grandfather, Wayne Lehmberg.
Celebration to honor Hannah’s life will be held at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, Wednesday, May 8, 2024, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, where family and friends will gather to share memories, and find comfort in each other’s presence. Following the next day, May 9, 2024, Celebration of Life services will be held at Live Oak Community Church at 10:00 am.
