The family of Guy Crump will celebrate his life of 88 years at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 5, 2021, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. His family will host a time of fellowship and remembrance from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, February 4, 2021, at Lake Ridge Chapel. He passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021. In support of the health of his family, face coverings are mandatory while attending the service. The service will be live-streamed on this page, where you are encouraged to sign the virtual guestbook and share memories and expressions of sympathy. On January 25, 1933, Guy was born to Luther Clyde Crump and Susie (Odell) Crump Kirksey in Petersburg, TX. Guy enjoyed growing up around Pioneer Park in the Overton neighborhood. He and his twin brother, Gay Troy, were inseparable. They began working at the bowling alley as pinsetters at the age of 11. Many of the airmen from Reese Air Force Base requested the pair as they could keep more alleys racked than most. The boys also enjoyed playing ball for the Lubbock Hubbers Baseball team back in the day. After graduation from Lubbock High, the draft took the young men to Fort Sill, Oklahoma, where they completed two years of active service and six years of Reserves in the Army back in Lubbock.Upon his return, Guy married Shirley Ann Fullerton in 1954. Guy worked for Mission Orange Soft Drink Company and soon entered the insurance industry as a life insurance agent for Lincoln and eventually Reliable Life Insurance Companies. Insurance brought many lifelong friends and trips across the United States and Mexico. Guy left the insurance business in 1975, opening a truck and travel trailer dealership in Lubbock with his brothers, Tom and Lee Royce. In 1985, Guy and Shirley moved with Shirley’s career at the FDIC, which took them to Midland, San Antonio, and eventually, Addison, TX. They retired in 1996 to Golden City, MO, with friends from FDIC, and enjoyed four years together before returning to Lubbock in 2000. Shirley passed away in 2006 after 52 years of marriage.Guy met and married Donna McDonald in 2007. He moved to Pecos, NM, and there they remained until 2018, moving to their current home in Rio Rancho, NM, outside Albuquerque. He loved his families, took pride in his freshly waxed vehicles, and often spoiled their little dog, Lillie, with a table treat, or seven. He proudly said that God had blessed him with two angels in matrimony. He will be deeply missed by family and friends.Survivors include his wife, Donna McDonald-Crump; sons, Bobby (Tanya) Crump and Coby (LaDon) Crump; step-children, Lynn (Terry) Cuba, Bonnie McDonald (Gary Lincoln), Edward (Lori) McDonald, Katie McDonald (Victor Guzman), Kim (William) Fisher; grandchildren, Chris Crump, Corbin Crump, Chad Crump; eighteen step-grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Lillie McCrump.Along with his parents, Luther Crump and Susie Kirksey, Guy is preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Crump; his siblings, Tom Crump, Lee Royce Crump, LeDelle Ramsey, Gay Crump (his twin), and Doris Dye.
