The family of Gordon Drennan will celebrate his life of 64 years at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at the First Baptist Church of Lamesa. His family will host a time of fellowship and remembrance from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, May 04, 2022, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. He passed on Sunday, May 1, 2022. We invite you to view the live-streamed service on this page and sign his virtual guestbook.Gordon was born in Lamesa, Texas to Louie Lee Drennan and Joyce LaNelle Jayroe of Welch, Texas. Gordon and his brother Grant both received Christ and were Baptized at First Baptist Church of Welch as children on Easter Sunday.He received his education from Dawson ISD where he played basketball and was involved in FFA. He married his High School Sweetheart, Kathy Diane Howard on June 7, 1977. Early on, he was very involved in team roping and calf roping.Gordon and Kathy farmed in Welch, Texas for 34 years as well as investing in a peanut harvesting business. He eventually became a peanut farming consultant in his later career which led him and Kathy to Pocahontas, Arkansas.They raised two daughters in Welch, Jessica Drennan Thomas of Wolfforth, and Jamie Drennan Crockett of Welch. As a family, they were involved in 4-H, horse shows, and stock shows.His most important job was being “Podo” to his 4 granddaughters and 1 grandson. He treasured and enjoyed each and every one of them.Gordon had a kind spirit with a generous heart for others. He was fulfilled when he could help a friend. Above all else, he wanted to show people Jesus Christ. He was a good and faithful servant.Survivors include his wife, Kathy Drennan; their children, Jessica (Kurt) Thomas, Jamie (Zac) Crockett; grandchildren, Kynlee Mae Thomas, Kaydee “Bug” Rhae Thomas, Brogan Rayne Crockett, Remi James Crockett, Woods Haven Crockett; parents, Louie and Joyce Drennan; sisters-in-law, Mindi Drennan; Carol (Mike) Holcomb; mother-in-law, Joye Howard; nephews and nieces, Brittni (Jason) Bates, Carson (Bailey) Drennan, Mackenzie Holcomb, Haydon (Kayla) Holcomb; great-nephews and great-nieces, Briggs Bates, Breyer Bates, Ryleigh Drennan, Lincoln Drennan, Jayden Holcomb, Madison Walton, and Haley Mae Holcomb.He was preceded in death by his brother, Grant Drennan, and father-in-law, James Howard.
