Gloria married Charles H. Ishmael on September 8, 1964 in Memphis, TN. She lived in Houston for 10 years where she worked as a childcare giver. Gloria lived most of her life in Lubbock where she worked as a self-employed housekeeper maintaining a high standard work ethic with meticulous results. She worked tenaciously until the job was completed to perfection! Her family was her life and did everything thing she could for them. She opened her home for anyone who needed help. She was a gentle soul but was also known to have a stubborn streak. Suffering with pain she rarely complained as she wakened each day with a positive attitude saying, “You gotta get up, there’s always work to do”. Her faith in the Lord was solid and she prayed for everyone. Her presence will be deeply missed by her all her friends, but the family finds comfort in knowing that she is no longer suffering and is now in heaven with her Lord, husband and son.Survivors include her two daughters, Nina Ishmael, and Holly Odorizzi; grandchildren, Adam Ishmael, and Blanca Espinoza; great-grandchild, Israel Ishmael; and two sisters, Evilia Vargas and husband, Phil; and Anjelita Rodriguez. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles H. Ishmael; and 2 sons, Charles Ishmael, Jr., Heath Ishmael.
