Glenn D. Pettit

Glenn Dale Pettit joined the Lord on Saturday, June 30, 2018. We will gather for fellowship and remembrance from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life of 91 years at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2018, at Parklawn Memorial Gardens, Plainview. 

Glenn was born on August 16, 1926, to the Levi and Winnie Pettit in Hobart, Oklahoma. Glenn attended Abernathy schools, and lived in Abernathy, Plainview and Lubbock. He served in the US Army during WWII.  Glenn owned and operated Glenn’s Rental in Plainview.  Prior to that he was a water well driller in Abernathy and worked a short time for Boeing Aircraft in Seattle.  On October 20, 2006, Glenn married Doris Teague Durruett, of Abernathy in Lubbock.

Glenn was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Maxelle Pettit, his parents and two brothers, Max and Peck.

Glenn is survived by his loving wife, Doris, three sons, Michael, Patrick and Russel; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bill Pettit.
