Gladys Brown Moore was born on October 13, 1921, to George and Hester Mathena in Rosalie, Red River County. She and her husband, Leon, moved to West Texas in 1948, living in Goldsmith, Texas, and then Odessa, Texas, and Houston, Texas, before moving to Lubbock, Texas in 1999.Survivors include her daughter, Sue Malaise of Lubbock, Texas; son, Jim Brown and wife, Mary Ann of The Woodlands, Texas; 7 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Harold Mathena and wife, Patricia.She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Hester Mathena; daughters, Rita Spencer and Frances Brown; spouses, Leon Brown and Mack Moore. Also preceding her in death are sisters Celia and Alva Lee, and brothers, Arlie, Hollis, and Wylie.

Sorry for your loss Sue and Jimmy. I'll never forget the time we scared her enough to run into the livingroom and get in Leon's lap. Also, I'll never forget Leon parking the school bus and getting out to open the bus barn door then letting me ride in the bus as he pulled into the barn and parked. Your parents were great people.
