Gladys Bradley Freeman, 95, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2015 after a brief illness. Visitation is today, October 25th from 5 -7 pm at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers in Lubbock, Texas. Services will be Monday, October 26, 2015, at 10 am at Woodrow Baptist Church. Graveside service will be held at 2 pm MST at Portales New Mexico Cemetery. Gladys was born on October 30, 1919 to Worth and Irene Wells in Sickles, OK. She moved to New Mexico as a child and graduated from Rogers High School in 1939. She married Zumer Bradley on May 18, 1940. They made their home in the Dora/Causey NM communities until Zumer's death in 1965. She later married J.D. Freeman of Causey, N.M. Gladys was a homemaker and farmed with both of her husbands before their deaths. She enjoyed working in her garden, canning the fruits of her labor, along with all kinds of arts and crafts especially painting. She enjoyed being part of the Dora/Causey Homemakers Club & Dora Painting Group.She was an excellent cook and no one ever left her table hungry. She moved to Woodrow in 2005 and was an active member of Woodrow Baptist Church until her health prevented her from attending.Along with her husbands and her parents, Gladys is preceded in death by her brother, Stanley Wells, sister, Roxie Phipps, and granddaughter, Donna Howe.Gladys is survived by her sister, Hazel Hampton of Chicago, Ill., brother, Ernest Wells of Phoenix, Az, four children, Don (Lavada) Bradley, Jason Bradley, Elaine Funk, and Patti (Howard) Darwin all of Lubbock, seven grandchildren, Michelle McCamey, Shawna Towndrow, Tiera Lesly, Craig Bradley, Brad Funk, Shayla Julian, and Emily Darwin; nine great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren.A tribute of Gladys’s life may be found at www.memorialdesigners.net, where you may leave memories and expressions of sympathy for her family.
