Giovanni Gio Kaleb Segovia passed peacefully into the hands of our loving Father on October 28, 2016 in Lubbock, Texas surrounded by love with his family by his side at the age of 2.
Giovanni is survived by his parents Daniel Segovia and Miranda Gabrielle Gonzalez Segovia; siblings, Gilbert Joel Ramos and Gabriella Helen Segovia; maternal grandparents Gilbert and Sylvia Gonzalez; paternal grandparents, Eladio and Norma Segovia; maternal great grandmother, Margarita Cortez; maternal great grandfather, Gilbert Gonzalez Jr.; paternal great grandmother, Irene Hernandez; aunts, Lisa Ramirez-Reyes and Nancy Arriaga; uncles Rudy Reyes, Phillip Arriaga, Eddy Segovia, and David Segovia.
Giovanni was born on February 18, 2014 in Lubbock, Texas although he was born with short bowel syndrome and fought through many complications he continued to be a testimony of faith and miracles, beating the odds with the help of the faithful prayers of his family and many friends. Many thanks to the loving staff of Covenant Women and Children’s Hospital as well as the Lead Transplant Center at the University of Nebraska who shared in his journey and fought by his side. His unwavering joy and courageous spirit was an inspiration to those around him. His love for music and infectious laugh continued to be a source of comfort for both he and his family. While in the end, his body wasn’t as strong as his spirit, Gio’s testimony is one of faith and courage. He has inspired all who knew him to “fight the good fight” and to “run the race that is set before us”.
A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday November 1, 2016 at 6:30pm at Emmanuel Worship Center. A funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday November 2, 2016 at Emmanuel Worship Center. Pastor Raymundo Almaraz will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Giovanni’s life. Flowers and condolences may be sent to Lake Ridge Funeral Home.
