Gerry Paul Hobbs, 74, of Lubbock passed away peacefully at home with his beloved wife Kay by his side.
Gerry was born September 7, 1948 to Wilson and Ruth Hobbs in Lubbock, Texas. He graduated from Lubbock High School in 1967 and attended Texas Tech University. He married his high school sweetheart, Kay Evans, on August 14th at Grace Presbyterian Church and the couple recently celebrated 56 years of marriage. They went on to enjoy a full life with four children, six grandchildren, and one greatgrandchild. Gerry worked as a Unit Manager for Lubbock General Hospital and as a Quality Control Manager/Specialist for Grinnel Fire Protection, Devro Inc., Eagle Pitcher, and Caprock Manufacturing. Additionally, he founded his own business, Quality Assurance Services in Lubbock.
Gerry is survived by his wife, Kay Hobbs; children, David (Carrie) Hobbs, Jennifer (Keith) Hobbs-Plantier, Jerrod (Vicki) Hobbs, Amber (Chris) Smith; grandchildren, Moira Plantier, Brayden Hobbs, Colbin Hobbs, Harmen Plantier, Jessica Smith, Jade Smith; great-grandchild, Walker Hobbs; siblings, Julia Grisham, Eldon Hobbs. He is preceded in death by parents, M.W. and Ruth Hobbs; siblings, Marion Hobbs, Betty Hester, Mary Allen.
