The family of Gerry Cole will celebrate his life of 75 years with a time of fellowship and remembrance from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 25, 2022, with services being held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 26, 2022. Both are being held at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. The interment will be at Ralls Cemetery in Ralls, Texas. Gerry Don Cole was born on September 13, 1947, in Lubbock, Texas. He was the son of Quinteen and Dorothy Cole. He graduated from Lorenzo High School in 1965. He graduated from Texas Tech University in December 1970 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Education, but more importantly, that was where he met Carolyn Holcomb, his loving wife of 50 years. Gerry worked for White’s Home and Auto. After leaving White’s, he worked at Lubbock Electric for over 30 years. Gerry was always an avid sports fan of anything Texas Tech, played golf, hunted, and loved to coach his kids.
Gerry passed away, with family by his side, on September 20, 2022. He was preceded in death by his father, Quinteen Cole; mother, Dorothy Cole; brother-in-law Bert Holcomb, Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Cole; their children, Robin (Kelly) Pope, and Randy (Kelli) Cole; brother, Darrell (Deborah) Cole; grandchildren, Shelbi Landes, Austin (Krishna) Pope, James Wiley, Elijah Day, Morgan McCall, Sky Day, Berkeley Cole, Autumn Cole; sister-in-law, Cheryl Holcomb; nephews, Doug (Shannon) Holcomb, Chad (Meredith) Holcomb, Dusty (Julie) Cole, Daniel (Rene) Cole, Ryan (Natalie) Holcomb and great nieces and nephews.
The family of Gerry Cole has designated memorial contributions donated in his memory to be made to Texas Tech University Foundation, Davis College of Agriculture, Box 42123, Lubbock, TX 79409-2123.
