George (Bob) Johnston passed away on October 5, 2016, in Lubbock. He was born to the late George R. and Ameda Johnston on November 29, 1943 in San Antonio, TX.Bob was a Staff Sgt. in the US Army and proudly served in Vietnam. He worked in management for several furniture stores in East Texas and Haverty’s in Lubbock, retiring in 2002. Bob had an overwhelming love for God, family, friends, and animals.He is preceded in death by a son, Robert Johnston, and two brothers, Ronnie Johnston and Jack Johnston. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Charlotte; children, Tammy Odom, Travis Johnston, Ty Johnston, Gary Barnett, Clay Barnett, and Sandra Barnett; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; father-in-law Clyde Gamble; and several nieces and nephews.
