George Arthur Lewis

Arthur was born on August 21, 1938 to Daniel and Estella (Baca) Lewis in Albuquerque, NM. He graduated from Albuquerque High School and attended college in St. Louis, Missouri. He served in the Air National Guard for six years. Arthur married the love of his life, Rebecca Flores on May 25, 1961in Albuquerque, NM. They moved to El Paso and he worked as a Master Mechanic for Phelps Dodge Copper Refinery. In 1995, he moved to Lubbock and was currently working for Blackwater Scaffolding. Arthur was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a devoted Catholic and was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church. He enjoyed attending antique car shows with his son Christopher and listening to music, especially Roy Orbison. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Osten Daniel Segura; a sister, Emily Pino, and a brother, Daniel Lewis, Jr.George is survived by his loving spouse of fifty years, Rebecca Benita Lewis of Lubbock, eight children, Rafael (Betty) Segura of Lubbock, Refugia (Ray) Chavez of Artesia, NM, Diana Doyal of Sierra Blanca, Tx, Arthur L. Lewis, Jr. of Calif., Samuel (Lisa) Lewis of Artesia, NM, Becky (Nori) Lau of Ontario, Calif., Reverend Steven Lewis, and Christopher Lewis both of Lubbock, two brothers, James R. (Isabel) Lewis, and Rudy (Gloria) Lewis; and a sister, Donna (Gilbert) Aragon all of Albuquerque, NM; 21 grandchildren, and 38 great grandchildren.
