Ruth was born on June 12, 1930, in Tucumcari, NM. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Lucy Tatom, her brothers Benny and Bill Tatom, her sister Alma Ward, and her husband RC Miller.
Ruth’s love for life and laughter was contagious. She was such a joy to be around. She started and ended her day with the Word of God and prayer. She was the one to call when you needed someone to pray. Ruth was steadfast and strong in her love, faith, and trust in God.
She was known and loved by everyone in Nara Visa, NM where she and RC raised their two children, Lindy and Cliff. Ruth was the Post Master and retired from the postal service there.
She was also well known for her singing ministry with her family in The Singing Millers gospel group.
Ruth’s favorite activities were reading the Bible and Christian books, family gatherings, gardening, fishing, sewing, crossword and jig-saw puzzles, and of course cooking. Many can remember the special touch she had in the kitchen. No one could make homemade bread or a cobbler like she could!
Ruth’s first grandchild named her “Mam,” which became the beloved nickname of everyone who met and loved her.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Lindy Woods and husband Dennis of Lubbock, TX, and her son, Cliff Miller of Amarillo, TX. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Bec Johnson and husband Josef of Lubbock, TX, Paul Mullins and wife Tyler of Amarillo, TX, Jim Miller of Amarillo, TX, Cassie Huffman and husband Clay of Tucumcari, NM, and Tracy Hardy of Amarillo, TX.
