Recognizing a fight well fought and a race well run, we celebrate the life of Marguerite Eulene Cronk, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, August 5, 2017.
Eulene Cronk was born on April 2, 1935, to Anon Ross Riley and Hazel Eulene Riley (Taylor). On October 23, 1953, Eulene married the love of her life, Arthur Edward Cronk, in Snyder, TX.
Survivors include son, Arthur Kim Cronk; daughters, Vanessa Barnett, Pam Copeland and husband, Mark, and Kristy Shirley; grandchildren, Lacee Bartlett and husband, Tim, Andrew Barnett, Trevor Copeland and wife, Ashley, Julia Copeland, Abigail Copeland, Maggie Shirley, Emmy Shirley, and Zakary Shirley; great-grandchildren Rylee, Ryder, Brexlee, and Brynnen Bartlett, and Cliff Copeland; sisters, Norma Horn, Janita Altaffer, and brother, Ronnie Riley and wife, Lorayne.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Arthur Edward Cronk; her parents, Anon Ross Riley and Hazel Eulene Hill; sister, Bobbie Ross Riley; and son-in-law David Barnett.
Eulene was a long-time member at Southcrest Baptist Church where she enjoyed working in the nursery, preparing church meals, serving on the bereavement committee, being a part of the Jolly Elders, and singing in the choir. Her interests included volunteering at church, playing cards with friends, cooking, and shopping. However, she was most passionate about her family and quilting. Although she was known most of her life as “Enie”, close family and friends knew her best as “Denny”. Eulene’s family wishes to thank the Palliative care unit at Covenant Hospital and Hospice of Lubbock for their loving care of our mother.
