Ethel Hitt

February 18, 1932 - July 23, 2017

Ethel was born on February 18, 1932, to the late James and Dora (Baker) Shearer in Bula, TX. She graduated from Portales High School and married the love of her life, Lloyd Hitt on April 14, 1951, in Portales. Ethel will be remembered for her servant’s heart. She touched many lives through her giving of her time and talents. One of those talents was cooking and serving others. She was an active member of Monterey Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, playing cards, and fellowship with the Keenagers.Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, and two sisters.She is survived by a son, Roger Hitt and wife, Diane of Lubbock; a daughter, Sharon Blackmon of Justin; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and sister, Linda Gregory and husband, Ronnie of Garland.

Our sincere condolences to the family of Ethel Hitt. ....We were close to her daughter.( Diane)...in our Youth Department at MEMORIAL BAPTIST CHURCH many years ago. Ethel was always a very loving and kind lady. My parents (FRANK AND WANDA HODGES)...spoke highly of her as well. God brought a beautiful lady home to be with Christ , the day she passed this life.
