Edelia Acuña Garza was born October 11, 1933, to Erineo and Maria (Cruz) Acuña in Nordheim, TX. As a young child she moved to West Texas. Where she worked with her family as a farmhand in the cotton fields picking cotton and as a migrant worker gathering fruit and vegetables from crops across the US. She married Antonio Garza on August 26, 1972, in Slaton, Tx.
As an adult, she was a housekeeper for many Slaton residents. She established many long lasting friendships with her clients over her career. To her they were family. She enjoyed her conversations with her friends Bobbie and Roger over coffee and reading the newspaper before getting started for the day.
In 1982, she lost her father and continued to be the provider for her mother until she passed away in 1992. In 1990, she became a Guadalupana for Blessed Sacrament Church and continued to serve her church until she was 73.
In 2006, she lost her husband Antonio and shortly retired following his death. During her retirement, she loved seeking Saturday morning garage sales, spending time with her grandkids and sitting out on her porch drinking iced tea.
She became a world traveler in 2022 traveling to Mahogany Bay, Belize and Cozumel.
