Eddie (Buzzy) Thomas Taylor was born in Lubbock on December 2, 1929, to Lois Eubanks Taylor and John Edmund Taylor. He grew up in Brownfield, Texas and served in the Army as a Corporal from 1951-1953. He graduated from Texas Tech University in 1955 with a B.S. in Agronomy. In August of 1959, he married his wife, Martha Chisholm and the two were blessed with 64 years together. He began his work career with the Farmers Home Administration where he served as a county supervisor in Plains, Texas from 1959-1965. From 1966-1979, Eddie was a loan officer and vice-president of the Yoakum County State Bank in Denver City, Texas. In 1980, Eddie became an independent insurance agent when he and Martha bought the Kizer Insurance Agency in Denver City. They retired in 1993. He was a member of the Bacon Heights Baptist Church of Lubbock, TX.
Eddie is survived by his loving wife, Martha Taylor of Lubbock, Tx; daughters, Carrie Lowe (Jere’) of Lubbock, TX. and Stacy Armstrong (Von) of Schertz, TX.; grandchildren, Dr. Devin Lowe (Pallas) of Abilene, Tx, Joelle Lowe (Rick) of Austin, Tx., Jayce Lowe (Kristen) of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Taylor Armstrong of Lewisville, TX, Mitchell Armstrong of San Antonio, Tx, and Miranda Waller (Dylan) of Cibolo, TX; great grandchildren, Solya and Phoenix Lowe of Abilene, Tx and Ava Waller of Cibolo, TX; and sisters, Shaeron Moorhead (Michael) of Dallas, TX and Panze Roberts (David) of Raleigh, NC; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lois McWherter; stepfather, Jess McWherter; and sister, Barbara Collier.
Eddie’s passions included playing golf, Texas Tech sports, and spending time with family.
