Robert Doyle Cole passed away on June 3, 2020. The family will host a time of fellowship and remembrance from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday, June 7, 2020, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. We will celebrate his life of 87 years at 10:00 am on Monday, June 8, 2020, at Lake Ridge Chapel. In support of the health of our community, the seating is limited due to the social distancing requirement set by Governor Abbott. He married the love of his life, Tawnya Tinson, May 23, 1952, in Carlsbad, NM, and they celebrated 62 years of marriage. He was a member of Southcrest Baptist Church and the Sonshine Sunday school class. He graduated from Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, TX, in 1956 and began training as an Insurance Adjuster. After living in Wichita Falls, Beaumont, and Waco, TX, then Farmington, NM, he returned to Artesia, NM, where he worked as the Insurance Claims Manager for Employers Group Insurance for the next twenty years. Then, he and his wife became the owners and Insurance Agents of the Artesia Insurance Agency until selling the agency in 1989. They moved to Lubbock in 1997, where he enjoyed living closer to their daughter and being with and watching his grandchildren in their many activities.Preceding him in death were his parents, Louis & Nina Cole, wife Tawnya, half-sister, Louise Lotsey and half-sister, Zelma Porch, and nephew James Mitchell.His survivors include his son, Gregory, and wife Linda Cole of Denver, CO; daughter, Jacklyn, and husband Charles Perry, of Lubbock; three beautiful grandchildren, Jordan Young and husband Garrett of Lubbock, Matthew Perry and wife Chanel of Lubbock and Leslie Faigen and husband Wil of Raleigh, NC; three great-grandchildren, Bella and Gavin Young and Greyson Perry; nephew, Douglas Porch and wife Shannon of Alamogordo, NM; niece, Renee Boling and husband Jimmy of Artesia, NM.
