Donald Ray Airhart passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 9, 2017.Donald was born January 27, 1937, to James Edward (J.E.) and Margie Pearl Burchell Airhart in Lamesa, Texas. He graduated from Klondike High School in 1955 and took great pleasure serving on the Klondike School Board. Donald dedicated his life’s work to the cattle industry. He loved working with the youth in agriculture, especially at stock shows.Survivors include his wife, Paula Airhart; children, Shara Gay Airhart Konechney and husband, Monty; Randy Ray Airhart; and Angela Ann Airhart Elam and husband, Shelby; grandchildren, Colton Airhart and wife, Michelle; Carter Airhart; great-grandchildren, Austin and Corbin.Donald is also survived by his wife’s, children, Jason Crosier and wife, Pamela; Joshua King and wife, Mari; siblings, Quinton Airhart and wife, Sharon; Gaylon Airhart and wife, Donna; Judy Everts; and Glenda Shortes and husband, Don.He was preceded in death by his parents, J.E. and Pearl Airhart; and brother, Jimmy Airhart.

PRAYERS FOR THE AIRHART FAMILY, THEY HAVE BEEN A LIFETIME FRIEND.

Donald was very dear to us and will always hold a special place in our hearts. He always had a smile on his face and always had a story. Sure will miss him! God has a good one with him now. Prayers of peace and comfort for his family and friends.

Donald will be greatly missed. I have many fond memories of the Airhart family, and of Donald in particular. I will be at the service tomorrow, and look forward to seeing Angie and other family members.

Donald was a life long friend and neighbor. Always supportive of Klondike in all aspects of the school. He will be missed by the community, Donnell & Sharla Echols & family

Donald was always eager to help anyone at the stock shows and the community. So sorry for y'all loss.

I will miss seeing you around Donald although I haven't seen you in quite awhile. Prayers to your family.

I am Freddy Jones and played American Legion baseball with Donald. I admired him even in those days in 1953 and 1954 when he played right field and I played center field for Joe Spikes in Lamesa. In a day when most teen age boys spoke in a degrading way about girls he always spoke in the most admiring terms of the character of his girl friend. I really am going to miss Donald as he was my "favorite uncle" when I was a young kid... He was always hugging on me and making me smile and laugh!! Lots of good memories between Donald and me. Love to all of his family!!! Wish that I could be there but, I live far away....

Donations need to be made to Klondike ISD and not Klondike FFA. Thank you. The proceeds will go to benefit Klondike FFA.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 pm Sunday, August 20th, at the Dal Paso Museum located on the square in Lamesa.

Our deepest condolences & prayers to the Airhart Family. He was a great friend that cared about the Klondike & Sparenberg community. He truly will be missed.
