Don Dansbee was born on October 12, 1932 to Otis and Mary Dansbee at Hamilton, TX and graduated from Ferry High School. Following high school he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps., serving during the Korean Conflict. On April 20, 1956, he married Naomi Jones in San Diego, California. After being honorably discharged, he worked for 7-Up in Roswell, NM, for a short time before moving to Lubbock in 1958. Don worked for Borden Dairy Company. until his retirement. He always enjoyed working and even after his retirement he drove a Citibus for seventeen years. And for many summers he worked at the race track in New Mexico. If Don had a hobby, it was driving an ice cream truck after work. He enjoyed driving that truck for over thirty years.
Survivors include his son, Bradlee Dansbee and wife DeeDee, his daughter, Tyra Amanda Stanley and husband Maurice all of Lubbock; four grandchildren, Conan Spears, Cody Spears, Todd Dansbee; and Trina Pettay; seven great-grandchildren, Hunter, Reece and Ryann Spears, Cruze and Chase Pettay, and Addison and Aniston Dansbee; a brother, Larry and wife Karen and a sister, Connie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Mary Dansbee, his beloved wife, Naomi and a sister, Patsy Carraway.
