In loving memory of a life well lived, we honor the passing of Donald Wayne Bingham a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Don was born on April 12, 1932, to Johnnie W. and Vera Norma (Bell) Bingham in Brownfield, TX, and passed away on June 1, 2024, in Lubbock, TX, at the age of 92.
Don graduated from Texas Tech in 1953 with a BBA. He later went back to Texas Tech, after a farming accident, in the early 1970’s to get another BBA in education. He then taught business courses at Wellman High School for 2 years, then returned to farming, retiring in 2010. He was a dedicated farmer in the Needmore community for fifty-seven years. Don was also known for his unwavering support for his favorite team, the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
Don’s legacy lives on through his loving wife, Helen Bingham; children, Donna (Keith) Cheatham, Danny Bingham, Debbie (Glenn) Smith, and Darrell Bingham; grandchildren, Jamie (Ken) Magness, Jeremy Cheatham, Jill (Steven) Toms, Matthew (Jenae) Bingham, Whitney (Scott) Wholley, Joshua Brandon (Jennifer) Bingham, Ashley (Brian) Batterton, Jordan (Josie) Bingham, Kerrie (Tyler) DeHay, Shea (Russell) Jephcott, Lynsey (Erik) Lara, Haylee Bingham, Blair Bingham, Parker (Cheyenne) Bingham; nineteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Each of them carries a piece of his kindness, hard work ethic, and unwavering love for those around him.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his legacy will continue to live on through his family and friends.
