She had a gift for teaching and helping special needs children and women. She spent many years substituting where there was a need. She enjoyed traveling with Leon in their travel trailer all across the US and in Mexico.
Dixie moved to Lubbock in 1999. She joined Monterey Church of Christ where she met new friends and enjoyed all the activities in her bible class. She continued travels with new friends.
Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were very important in her life. She enjoyed making their favorite meals, having them at the farm, and attending any activity they participated in. She was a very proud grandmother.
