Dewain was born on October 6, 1949, to Leon and Alice Gallimore Hale in Lubbock, Texas. He graduated from Lubbock High in 1968 and worked for the family owned business Hale’s Meat Market then assuming ownership in 1983 after the passing of his parents. He provided dedicated service and established many relationships within the community. He was committed to the ones he loved and had a passion for making people feel special. He was employed with Target for 11 years and received many awards for his excellent customer service. His gardening skills were those of an artist. He could grow the most amazing tomatoes and squash and was excited to share the fruits of his labor. He described every day of his life as, “Tremendous”! Survivors include his children, Brandon Hale and wife, Shellie; Terry Hale and wife, Tracy; Kara Harbison and husband, Caleb; Macy Hale; grandchildren, Kacie Deeds and husband, Jon; Kayna Brooks; Kodi, Kori and Cash Harbison; Derek Damron, Kelton Brooks, Austin Hale; sisters, Cindy Farmer and husband, William; Pam Abernethy and husband, Frank; Shiela Danley and husband, Jim; nephews, Shane Burgess and wife, Sondra; Les Abernethy, Chris Danley and husband, Michael O’Donnell; Derick Danley; nieces, Tammy L. Millar and husband, Scott; Heather H. Shiner and husband, Tim; and Kim Holbrook and husband, Lon.He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Alice Hale; and grandson, Hunter Hale.
