The family of Deacon Ramon Diaz will gather to recite the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 11, 2021, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Mass will be celebrated in honor of Ramon’s life of 69 years at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 12, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plains, Texas. We invite you to view the live-streamed service on this page, sign his virtual guestbook, and download his memorial keepsake folder to your device for printing. On August 11, 1951, Ramon was born to Arnulfo “AC” and Maria Diaz in Brownfield, Texas. He married Margie Ramos on November 4, 1967, at St Anthony’s Catholic Church in Brownfield, Texas.Ramon Diaz was called to heaven and will be missed in a way that words cannot define. He was always smiling, being a jokester, and loved life; however, he also knew when to be serious and was often sought out for his wisdom. Though he is no longer with us on Earth, his legacy will never be forgotten.Ramon was a devoted member of the church and a lover of music as well. He joined the church choir in his early teens and loved to sing and play musical instruments. It was also around this time that he met his future wife, Margie Diaz, at a church event. Margie was the love of his life, and they spent the rest of his time here on Earth together. Later in life, he became a Deacon with the Lubbock Diocese and served the church until his passing.Ramon lived the first and second commandments by example throughout his entire life. He loved all people unconditionally and always put the needs of others before his own. His wife and family were his greatest treasure on Earth, and he did whatever it took to make sure that they were always taken care of. Ramon knew no stranger and did everything in his power to help those who were suffering or in need.Ramon was one of the finest men you could have ever met. He lived by example what it means to love God, family, and thy neighbor without exception. His love for his wife and family was second to none, and any man would be fortunate to be even half of the man he was.Survivors include his wife, Margie, their children, Ruth (Ryan) Hughes, Micheal (Heather) Diaz, Marlie (Kim Chavez) Diaz, grandchildren, Casson Curtis, Alice Curtis, Jairus Curtis, Krause Cruz, Kryssa Cruz, Trevor Hughes, Tomas Diaz, Maxton Diaz, Kailey Johnson, Dakota Crump, Madyson Diaz, and Maesyn Diaz, great-grandchildren, Hailee Curtis, Parker Curtis, Owen Curtis, Oliver Curtis, Noah Johnson, Kai Johnson, Ryser Johnson, Tegan Crump, and Tabias Crump, sisters, Isabel Hernandez, Rosalita Calsoncin, Janie Rios, and Delia RamirezHe was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, JR Diaz, Jerry Diaz, Henry Diaz, mother-in-law, Sulema Ramos, and father-in-law, Alfredo Ramos.
