David, Dave, Paw Paw or Uncle D and Dad as he was affectionally called, was born on December 8, 1937, in Monahans, Texas to BF and Letha Wylie. He graduated from Monahans High School and attended Angelo State University. Over his lifetime he worked for Bonine Lumber Yard, Three B Oil and Mesquite ISD. He was a talented woodworker, artist, and all-around handyman.
On March 7, 1959, he married LaBoyce Albert in Monahans, Texas, where they eventually raised their two girls. They were members of Third and Dwight Church of Christ, where he served as a deacon for several years. Later in life, they resided in Royce City, Texas and finally moved to Lubbock to be closer to their family.
Dave will be deeply missed by his family, including his wife of 64 years LaBoyce, daughters, Terri Trollinger, and husband, Ronnie; Sheri Franklin, and husband Rodney, all of Lubbock. His legacy continues through his grandchildren Brandon, Shannon, Lauryn, Robyn, Katy and Austin, along with 9 precious great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Janice Ratliff, and husband Richard, one nephew and two nieces.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents. Although no services are planned, his dedication to his family will always be remembered. May he rest in eternal peace, his memory alive in our hearts.
David Jackson Wylie, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away on October 12, 2023. He was 85 years old.
