The family of Danny Jobe will celebrate his life of 76 years at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. His family will host a time of fellowship and remembrance from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, December 21, 2020 at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. He passed on Tuesday, December 15, 2020. Seating is limited to 65 seats, face coverings are mandatory, and the staff will enforce social distancing in compliance with state regulations. These precautions are to ensure that the family, staff, and our community are safe. The service will be live-streamed at www.memorialdesigners.net, where you are encouraged to sign the virtual guestbook and share memories and expressions of sympathy.On August 20, 1944, Danny was born the only child to Buddy and Winnie Jobe in Amity, AR. Danny moved to Lubbock, TX, when he was 5 years old. He met his future bride, Betty Kay, in 1962, and they fell in love and married in 1968. Together they raised 3 children. Danny graduated from Lubbock High School in 1963. After graduation, he served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1963 to 1967. Upon completing his military career, Danny began his lifelong career as a Lubbock Firefighter in 1969 and retired as a Captain in 1995. During this time, he also owned and operated JJR Supply for 35 years and retired this company in 2013.Meanwhile, he also began Double J tractor service in 2005 and has continued to serve his clients throughout his life. Danny loved fishing, camping, and woodworking, celebrating the 4th of July with fireworks, as well as dressing up and decorating for Halloween and Christmas. His greatest love was his wife and family. He absolutely loved playing with his grandchildren. If he wasn’t chasing them around the backyard, playing on the playground with them he was giving them tractor rides, teaching them to fish, or taking them to Joyland. Danny was a family man who had a great affection for lots of nieces and nephews as well.Survivors include his wife, Kay Jobe; their children, Wesley (Tiffany) Jobe, Danny (Traci) Jobe; son-in-law, Trayle Shroyer; and grandchildren, Analisa Jobe, Addison (Justice) McMullen, Aaron Williams, Alyssa Jobe, Aric Jobe, Blake Keller, Ashton Keller, Dylan Keller, and Jase Jobe.Danny was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Lisa Shroyer.
