Dan Wood, 81, of Lubbock, passed away on December 25, 2020. Family and friends are welcome to visit him on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. In support of the health of his family, face coverings are mandatory while visiting. You are encouraged to sign the virtual guestbook and share memories and expressions of sympathy on this page. A private ceremony to celebrate his life is scheduled for a later date.He was the son of Edna Howell Wood and John Wesley Wood. Dan was born in Rotan, Texas on May 30, 1939. He graduated from Snyder High School in 1958 where he was a member of the Hot Rod Club and was involved in Industrial Cooperative Training where he won various awards. With his entrepreneurial spirit and passion for cars, he then moved to Lubbock to build an Automotive and Repair business that spanned over 60 years. Upon retiring he faithfully served as an usher at Trinity Church and dedicated his life to helping his neighbors and friends in his community. He was known for his stability, hard work, kind nature, and love for a good plate of Mexican food. He instilled these values in his daughter Danna Wood Williams with whom he shares with his former wife. He then married Gloria Shaw Wood and their marriage endured for 23 years until her passing in 2014.He is survived by his loving daughter Danna Wood Williams, 3 stepchildren Dodie (Jimmy) Gill, Cindy Mullins, Greg (Tori) Shaw; 4 grand-children Daniel, Joshua, Kristen, and Stefan; 9 step-grand-children Brice, Kendall, Taylor, Sara, Finleigh, Koen, Margaux, Saxon, and Genny.He was preceded in death by his parents, brother L.E., sister Florine, and wife Gloria.
