Daloma Smith passed away Monday, July 16, 2018. We will gather for fellowship and remembrance from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life of 78 years on Thursday, July 19, 2018, at 2 pm at LakeRidge United Methodist Church Chapel.
Daloma was born at home in Lynn County on February 15, 1940, to Cornelious and Edna (Ramsey) Brewer. She graduated from New Home High School. On June 12, 1958, she married Bobby Smith in Lakeview, Texas. Daloma worked as a Secretary for Lubbock-Cooper ISD for many years and then opened her own business, the Diet Center. Daloma was the pianist at Cooper UMC for many years. She was a member of LakeRidge UMC and active in the church choir. She enjoyed volunteering at Lubbock Meals on Wheels. Daloma’s hobbies included traveling and going to the lake, where she enjoyed skiing and fishing. She also took great pride in being used as a vessel by God to instill Christian beliefs to her children, grandchildren and great -grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, Lynn (Kim) Smith of Wilson; daughter, Pamella Ann (Mark) Adams of Lubbock; grandchildren, Brandon (Allie Corley) Nettles of Slaton, Justin (Amanda) Smith of Lubbock, Reed Nieman of Lubbock, Corey (Morgan) Smith of Alamogordo, NM, Hayden Smith of New Home; Brandi (Charles) Neill of Levelland, Audra Nieman of Lubbock; great-grandchildren, Skilar Neill, Bryce Nettles, Maddison Neill, Presley Nettles; brother, Dallas Brewer of Lubbock; and sister, Roma (Jerry) Haley of Lubbock.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bobby Joe Smith; and 4 siblings.
