Craig Steven Nix, affectionately known as “Bubba” passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. We will gather for fellowship and remembrance from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, June 22, 2018 at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life of 61 years on Saturday, June 23, 2018, at 1 p.m. at Monterey Baptist Church. Bubba was born on December 28, 1956 to the late Buddy and Bettye (Taylor) Nix in Dallas, TX. He graduated from Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas in 1975 and then attended Texas Tech University where he played baseball from 1976-1977. On July 28, 1979 he married Michelle Fillingim in Lubbock. Bubba loved watching the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, and Texas Tech sports. He had a passion for hunting, fishing in Colorado, and spending time with his family. He was a manager in the car business in Lubbock for over 30 years. Bubba is survived by his loving wife, Michelle; children, Tiffany Snyder and husband, Martin of Lubbock, Cole Nix and wife, Sarah of Conroe, and Tye Nix of Lubbock; grandchildren, Holden and Hayes Snyder, and Logan and Cash Nix; brother, David Benedict and wife, Candy of Douglasville, GA; and sisters, Jan Reynolds of Flower Mound, and Jill McGinnis and husband, Brian of Richardson.
