Corbin Dean Shawn M.D. was born on February 13, 1988 to Stan and Margie Shawn in Monahans, TX and passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2016, in Lubbock, TX.
Corbin graduated from Monahans High School in 2006 where he was a member of the varsity swim and tennis teams as well as a percussionist in the marching band. He attended the University of Texas of the Permian Basin before transferring to Texas Tech University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Cell and Molecular Biology in 2010 and a Master of Science degree in Molecular Pathology at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2011. He received a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in 2015. He was a pathology resident at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
Corbin was a very unique and artistic young man with a sensitive soul. He was an avid reader and never ceased in his passion for learning new things. At a young age, Corbin became a certified scuba diver and experienced underwater depths in places like the Bahamas. He liked listening to music and attending live concerts as well as spending time playing his electronic drum set. He loved to entertain his passions of drawing and making art as well as cooking from scratch for others. Corbin also maintained an interest in animals, having had many types of exotic pets during his life. One of his major interests was studying and learning as much as he could about different world religions and philosophies. He was never one to take things on the surface and always kept a desire to make himself more world aware. Corbin enjoyed living life to the fullest. He was loved dearly by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
