Charles “Dan” Savell, 71, of Simpsonville, SC, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 1, 2022. He was born June 3, 1951, in Alamogordo, NM, to James L. and Ina Mae Hardin Savell, and was the oldest of four children. Dan grew up in Wilson, TX, where after graduating from Wilson High School, he served our country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam conflict.
After being a long-time resident of West Texas, Dan moved with his wife of 47 years, Marsha T. Savell, to Greenville, SC, and Spruce Pine, NC, in 2013 to be near their daughter and grandsons.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, James L. and Ina Mae Hardin Savell, son Eric Savell, and brother Richard Savell. Dan is survived by his wife Marsha T. Savell; daughter Angela (Brian) Jones of Simpsonville; brothers David (Beci) Savell and Doug (Renee) Savell of West Texas; and three grandchildren, Caden Jones, Paxton Jones, and Kendall Savell.
The family would like to thank the team at Interim Hospice of the Upstate, especially Nan and Dee, who provided the best of comfort care to our loved one.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, Oct. 22, at Lake Ridge Chapel, 6025 82nd Lubbock, TX. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 am, and the Memorial Service will begin at 11 am.
