Charles “Charlie” was born on February 26, 1931 to John and Ethel Hall in Clayton, Oklahoma. On February 11, 1956, Charles married the love of his life, Jane Roberts in Tulsa, OK.Charlie graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University, where he earned his degree in Pharmacy. He then moved to Lubbock, where he and his partner, Harold Raff opened their first Drug store on July 1, 1957. They owned the Raff and Hall Drug store in Family Park, stores in Caprock, Flintwood and Redbud Square shopping centers as well as Gibson stores in Lubbock. Caprock Discount Pharmacy was listed as one of the top 10 independent Drug stores in the United States, under Charlie’s management. Eventually, they expanded to 23 pharmacies in Texas and New Mexico. Charlie and his son, Charles Jr. then continued to develop stores and services that included operations in Dallas, Amarillo, Corpus Christi and Melbourne, Florida.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Jane Hall; their children, Charles M. Hall, Jr. and wife, Leslie Lee; Judy Groves and husband, Bill; John Roberts Hall; Joel Thomas Hall and wife, Karrie Ann; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
His parents, John Samuel and Ethel Elizabeth Hall and six siblings, preceded him in death.
