Charlene Harmonson

The family of Charlene Harmonson will host a gathering of family and friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. A service to celebrate her life of 86 years is scheduled at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, followed by a graveside service at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery. She died on Saturday, March 16, 2024.

Charlene was born August 25, 1937, to Charlie and Christine Richardson Brent in Dodd City, TX. She grew up on a farm in east Texas until her family moved to the Lake View area. Later on, Charlene married Leon Harmonson on October 21st, 1955, in Portales, New Mexico. Leon and Charlene lived in Morton Texas. From there they moved to Hart and Leon worked as a bookkeeper at a gas station. Charlene and Leon started their family in 1956 with the birth of their daughter Vickie followed by two sons, Tommy and Ronnie. The family later moved to New Home where Leon was a crop duster until he retired. Charlene lived her life as the caretaker of the family. She wrangled their children and made sure they attended church every Sunday and Wednesday. Later on in life she became a Nena to 3 grandchildren and eventually a GreatNena to 6 great-grandchildren. Charlene was a long-time member of the Church of Christ in New Home. Attending and watching the church grow over the years was one of the highlights of her life.

Charlene is survived by children, Vickie (Wesley) Timmons, Tommy (Jennifer) Harmonson; grandchildren, Cody (Betsey) Timmons, Holly (Todd) Murdock, Joslyn (Dustin) Sellers; great-grandchildren, J.B. Timmons, Kye Timmons, Taylor Timmons, Carsen Murdock, Charlie Timmons, Ryker Sellers.

She is preceded in death by husband, Leon Harmonson; son, Ronnie Harmonson; parents, Charlie and Christine Brent.
