We invite you to view the live-streamed service on this page, sign her virtual guestbook, and download her memorial keepsake folder to your device for printing. On January 29, 1944, Charlene Faye was born to the late Lilborn “L.N.” and Hattie (Moore) Bartley in Lubbock, TX.After high school, she married and began her family. She lived her life as a devoted mother, wife, and hard worker. Her path led her to a job in law enforcement as Potter County’s first woman deputy sheriff. While working as a deputy sheriff, she was granted the opportunity to pursue her passion for medicine and nursing. While raising a family and attending school, she managed to graduate with her RN BSN. She worked in all aspects of the field, from helping to open the Audi Murphy Center, oncology, and then geriatrics and long-term care. She worked as a nurse for over 45 years until October of 2020. The simplest pleasures in life brought her the greatest joy. She enjoyed quiet evenings with her best friend Steve, family gatherings, taking cruises, friends, and of course, her Sonic Diet Coke with extra ice! She had an uncanny ability to nurture everyone, and her pleasant personality was contagious.Survivors include her husband, Steve Townsend; children, Kellie (Ray) Cooper, Tracie Hall, Amanda (C.)
