Brooke Genell Proctor, 53, received her heavenly miracle of healing on April 4, 2024. Praise God cancer no longer has any control over her. Brooke was born December 8, 1970, to Al and Bev Yeomans in Houston Texas.
Brooke could best be described as the light in any room. Her infectious personality and smile drew everyone to love her. She firmly believed that you could never have enough lamps, read enough books, or love your family or friends enough. Anyone who was ever around her surely heard those kind words “be nice” from her. But more than anything Brooke loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Whether you were her family, her friend, her work folks or a stranger sitting in the waiting room somewhere Brooke would remind you that God loves you and that she was praying for you.
In December 2020 Brooke received the dreaded diagnosis that “You have Cancer”. Scared like anyone would be, she immediately let it be known that the diagnosis would not define who she was but rather she would be defined by how she walked through this. And what a definition did she write. Brooke showed us how we should get our lives straight with God and how we should live each day to the fullest and enjoy it. There was never a greater example of living in faith like the one Brooke displayed for us.
November 11, 1995, Brooke married Doc Proctor, and with that came a stepson, Reagan Proctor. She never even questioned it and loved him like he was her own. In 2000 Brooke and Doc were blessed with a son Zach and she proclaimed that her life was complete she said that she had been sentenced to a life of Boys, but she quickly learned and told everyone that she would not have had it any other way. Then came Grandkids and Brooke became “Sugar” to Rantley, Harlow, Kingsley, Collins, and Cohen. She finally got her girls. Sugar was a true example of how to love and what love truly was.
Brooke is survived by her husband Doc Proctor, her sons: Reagan Proctor (Erica) and Zach Proctor (Morgan); parents: Albert and Bev Yeomans; Mother-in-law: Jerri Proctor grandchildren: Rantley Proctor, Harlow Shaefer, Kingsley Shaefer, Collins Proctor, and Cohen Proctor; siblings: Steve Yeomans and Jill Yeomans; brother-in-law Mark Proctor and sister-in-law Cynthia Proctor.
