Bobby Dean Mariott passed away on December 8, 2017. Bobby was born at home in Coryell County, Texas on October 25, 1940. We will gather for fellowship and remembrance from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life of 77 years on Monday, December 11, 2017, at 10 a.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel officiated by Jay Abernathy and Tommy Haralson.Bobby graduated from Evant High School in Evant, Texas. He moved to Pecos, Texas in 1960 where he met and married his wife, Shirley (Snyder) Mariott in 1961. They were married for 56 years. Bobby was employed by Applied Industrial Technology for 44 years. He lived and worked for Applied Industrial Technology in Pecos, Big Spring, and Odessa, Texas. Bobby volunteered at Word of Hope where he sent Bible Study lessons to prisoners for 10 years. Bobby made his profession of faith when he was 12 years old and was baptized in the Cowhouse Creek in Pearl, Texas. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Lubbock, Texas. Bobby enjoyed horses, welding, and spending time with his family. He was also a handyman who could fix anything.Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Cleta (Bynum) Mariott, and a brother Donald Clevon Mariott.Bobby is survived by his wife, Shirley; 2 sons Dean and wife, Jill; Doug and wife Joy; 4 grandchildren: Taylor, Hayden, Kendall and Lauren Mariott all of Lubbock, Texas. A brother, Royce and wife Lavon, of Midland, Texas and 2 nephews Gary and wife Rhonda, Cody and Cutter of Midland, Texas; Tim and wife Monica and Chase, Chandler and Chaney of Boerne, Texas.Pallbearers are Randy Dulin, Randy Mariott, Ricky Mariott, Dwayne (Butch) Fraser, Gary Mariott, and Tim Mariott. Honorary pallbearers are the men of the Hopson Sunday School Department of First Baptist Church Lubbock.
