Bobbie Marlene Mabry

Bobbie Marlene Reynolds Mabry of Lubbock, Texas passed away at the age of 88 on March 23, 2024. Bobbie was born in Lone Oak, Texas on February 24, 1936 to parents Marvin Walter Reynolds and Mary Elizabeth Smart Reynolds. Bobbie married her college sweetheart, Ralph Bruner Mabry, on November 28, 1957 in Lubbock, Texas and they celebrated a 65th wedding anniversary in 2023.

Bobbie was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She and Ralph owned their own appraisal business for over 30 years and were long-time members of First Baptist Church Lubbock. Bobbie attended Texas Tech University where she met Ralph in 1954. She graduated in 1958 with a degree in elementary education.

Bobbie took great joy in her children and devoted her life to helping them succeed. Her love language was service for others; she made things possible for her children that would not have otherwise been feasible without her determination and tenacity. She said that her four children graduating from college was her greatest achievement. She was thrilled to have several grandchildren move to Lubbock to attend Texas Tech. She treasured their visits, provided a home away from home, and kept them supplied with homemade chocolate chip cookies.

Bobbie’s favorite trips were to visit her children and their families, and she lived vicariously through her childrens’ trips around the world. She greatly enjoyed attending the graduations and weddings of her grandchildren and loved spending time together with family at milestone events and holiday gatherings.

Bobbie loved the Lord. She greatly looked forward to heaven and being reunited with Ralph.

Bobbie was preceded in death by older brother Floyd Lake Reynolds, older sister Annie Jo Holden, and husband Ralph Bruner Mabry.

Bobbie is survived by children Ken Mabry and wife Laura Mabry, Marilyn Rhyne and husband Kent Rhyne, David Mabry and wife Jennifer Mabry, and Linda Nix and husband Craig Nix; eleven grandkids Craig Rhyne, Katherine Reed, Kathryn Rhyne, Travis Mabry, Rachel Elequin, Michael Mabry, Will Nix, Gretchen Mabry, Margaret Mabry, Caroline Nix and Emily Nix; three great-grandchildren, Graham Reed, Wesley Mabry,  and Theoden Elequin.
